Text Resizing Results
This version of the page is styled to fit with the normal look of my site. There is also an unstyled and cut-down version of this page which may be more suitable for actually carrying out comparisons, as you won’t have the side and far bars “getting in the way”.
Note this page is currently in progress… if you have tested the results on any browsers or platforms feel free to add your comments at the bottom and I will add them to the table in due course.
This page is intended as a resource for this site and others to know how to resize text on a web page through your browser. Note that in many cases resizing will only work if the site designer has specified relative font sizes: using absolute sizes such as pt
or in
may not scale.
Feel free to test this by using the methods against the sample lines below
- this line is styled using pixel units (
12 px
) - this line is styled using point units (
12 pt
) - this line is styled using pica units (
1 pc
) - this line is styled using em units (
1.1 em
) - this line is styled using ex units (
3.1 ex
) - this line is styled using percentage units (
100 %
) - this line is styled using millimetre units (
4 mm
) - this line is styled using centimetre units (
0.4 cm
) - this line is styled using inch units (
0.2 in
)
