Complete Disregard for public opinion by the Olympic Committe (but then so was China getting the games…), a case of “we’re paying so much money that we should just trust what the designer says”

if they were paying $500 for it they would’ve taken one look, pissed themselves laughing and walked out the door saying “my five year old did something like that at school!!!”

Why does the top right hand shape look so familiar? Maybe because it’s a stylised map of mainland Australia? Are London 2012 trying to copy Sydney 2000? Generally frightening…

There were some very clever and elegant ones in the BBC contest. It’s sad that 75% of them could easily represent London better than this mangled heap of colors. $800,000 for just the logo? I shudder to think about the advertising costs, the merchandise, the buildings and locations…

Oh, and the committee’s complete disregard for public opinion is just shameful

i don’t think scribbles – with regards to the logo selected by the bbc – take much time. Though i must say it was most creative integrating 2012 with the word ‘london’. Very good that.
