Free Dr. Pepper For All Americans
All I can say is you bastards. I love Dr. Pepper. Why can’t I have some?
In case you’re wondering why all Americans are to get some free Dr. Pepper, it’s because of probably the oddest news story I’ve seen for some time. Basically, what happened is that Guns n’ Roses had been taking so long to release their long awaited next album, that Dr Pepper said…
Tired of a world in which Americans idolise wannabe singers and musicals about high schoolers pass as rock ‘n roll music, Dr Pepper is encouraging (ok, begging) Axl Rose to finally release his 17-years-in-the-making belabored masterpiece, Chinese Democracy, in 2008.
In an unprecedented show of solidarity with Axl, everyone in America, except estranged GNR guitarists Slash and Buckethead, will receive a free can of Dr Pepper if the album ships some time — anytime! — in 2008.

GNR have said that this album will be released next month… meaning that Dr Pepper suddenly need to provide an awful lot of free cans, but they have pledged to provide these, using a voucher system…
Americans will have to visit the drinks manufacturer’s website to register for a coupon to obtain their free can.
Registration will only be possible for 24 hours after the album’s US release date next month, and vouchers could take up to six weeks to arrive.
I have to say I think it’s perhaps a little stingy that registration will only be possible for a 24-hour period, particularly since the site is likely to be under severe strain at that point from everyone wanting free Dr Pepper.
The absolute bastards. Why is it only open to American residents? I want Dr. Pepper! (well, preferably diet Dr Pepper, but if it’s free I’ll take anything!)
So if you’re an American resident, I urge you to claim your free Dr Pepper. And if you’re Dr Pepper, I urge you not to be so stingy and geographically mean next time…

I’m with you on this one Jack, I love Dr Pepper and tend to grab a can (bottle doesn’t taste the same) when I see one. When I was in the States the last two years I had Dr Pepper anytime I was at a fast food type joint, surely that qualifies me for a free voucher?
